COBRA:
The Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act ("COBRA") requires employers with 20 or more employees to continue to offer coverage in their group health plans to certain former employees, retirees, spouses, and dependent children.
McGregor & Associates, Inc. provides the following compliance services for those employers required to comply with COBRA and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"):
- Initial Notifications of COBRA rights and obligations
- COBRA Qualifying Event Notices
- Handle all questions from COBRA continuants
- Adjudicate eligibility consistently, fairly and accurately, as the law dictates
- Provide monthly continuant billings, send grace letters, and collect COBRA premiums
- Provide employer with updated reports on COBRA continuants
- Remit premiums monthly (to client or carrier), with itemized reports
- Retain proof of all federally mandated COBRA documentation to demonstrate compliance.
- Provide HIPPA Certificates of Creditable Coverage as required whenever COBRA coverage is lost
